Breen Capital & Darach Logo & Branding

We recently had the opportunity to collaborate with **Breen Capital**, a financial firm that focuses on investment portfolios, and its philanthropic arm, **Darach**. Our task was to develop two distinct but cohesive brand identities for both entities, ensuring they each represented the core values of the business while serving their unique purposes.

Breen Capital Branding

The logo design for Breen Capital was centred around creating a modern and trustworthy image. The client wanted the “B” to be prominent, but we also wanted to introduce elements that conveyed upward growth and reliability - two key attributes for any investment firm. 

We used flowing, curved shapes to form the "B," giving the logo a sense of fluidity and motion. This subtle movement symbolises the dynamic nature of financial markets while projecting confidence and stability. The green arrow, positioned within the “B,” points upward, representing positive growth, improvement, and the profitable future Breen Capital aims to deliver for its clients. 

The soft, gradient blue tones in the logo help create a calm and trustworthy visual identity, ensuring that the brand feels approachable yet professional. This modern aesthetic reflects Breen Capital’s forward-thinking approach to managing investments, positioning them as a firm that clients can trust with their wealth.

Designing The Darach Sub-Brand

For the Darach logo, we wanted to highlight the philanthropic nature of this branch while staying connected to the overarching Breen Capital brand. The word “Darach”, derived from the Irish word for "oak," inspired the use of a tree motif - a symbol of strength, growth, and giving back to the community.

The Darach logo features a tree with vibrant green leaves and acorns, symbolising new beginnings and sustainability. The oak tree’s design also incorporates a hand within the tree trunk, representing the values of generosity and community - key components of the brand’s mission to support charitable causes. The tagline, “Shared Values, Excellence, Passion,” reflects Darach’s commitment to making a positive impact through philanthropy.

The circular design of the Darach logo, paired with the bold colours, adds a sense of unity and wholeness to the brand, visually distinguishing it while maintaining alignment with Breen Capital’s core ethos.

 

While the two logos differ in their purpose and messaging, they remain connected through design elements that reinforce their relationship. Both logos reflect the overarching values of Breen Capital - stability, growth, and trust - while giving each branch of the business its own identity.

The modern branding for Breen Capital focuses on the technical side of investing, providing clients with a sense of reassurance and growth. Meanwhile, Darach’s branding leans into the values of giving back and fostering growth within communities, using visual storytelling that resonates with its philanthropic efforts.
